What I figured out while being in Palawan for 6 month now is that there are, as everywhere, a variety of peoples. Religion is a big thing for a lot of people but in my opinion lived in a pathetic way since in everyday life lying and screwing over people (in small ways) seems no problem for them. As European the mindset is quite different in terms of thinking further. You fix just whats broken on a bike, not what should be fixed so it runs properly for a while for example. On the other Hand you guys are very carying for each other and supportive in the community. The food is different compared to Thailand etc. but Adobo is Kickass. As everywhere in Asia theres quite a Machoculture where Woman get the shit done at home whereas the guys are doing the hard labour and are drinking/smoking in the free time. Most people are really nice, some jerks are around but thats found everywhere I guess. But as a foreigner who doesnt speak Tagalog I'm not able to dig into the culture really deep tho..

my former job hired a bunch of Filipinos. got to know some of them.we threw toegether a couple of parties and one of them was the most epic party of my life. we drank shitload of booze, they made some traditional Filipino food. there was screaming, singing, laughing, karaoke. i can say one thing - you people know how to party!
